Art Technician - Mamoura British Academy (AY 26/27)

Aldar Education is currently seeking an outstanding Art Technician for Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing August 2026.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • An “A” Level or IB in Art would be an advantage.
  • Appreciation of the importance of high standards

Minimum Experience

  • Experience in similar role
  • Experience with working in an educational setup.

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent literacy and communication skills (both written and spoken) as a large part of the role involves communicating with SLT, Heads of Department, students and parents.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist school in achieving its overall vision and strategic intentions and to contribute to the achievement of relevant targets as set out in the school’s improvement plan and self-evaluation form
  • Comply with regulations pertaining to health and safety at work legislation and adhere to school policies relating to safe working practice and equal opportunities regulations
  • Comply with the school’s Performance Management Policy ensuring challenging annual targets are set and to fulfil the role of performance management reviewer if directed to do so by the Principal
  • Engage in annual training linked to child protection, safeguarding and health and safety together with all training deemed appropriate for the purpose of school improvement or performance management
  • Comply with the school’s staff dress code at all times including the wearing of photo ID / lanyard
  • Comply with the school’s computer Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) at all times
  • Attend all staff briefings
  • Sign out and sign in at relevant school reception if off site at any point during the normal working day

Specific Duties:

  • The general maintenance, repair and cleaning of all Art workshop tools on a daily, weekly and termly basis where appropriate, liaising with internal departments and Facilities Management where necessary
  • To ensure the technician area is kept clean and organised
  • To maintain a safe working environment by keeping work areas clean, tidy and well organised
  • To store all equipment and materials safely and systematically
  • To assist when needed the preparation of the Art room prior to teaching
  • To assist when needed the preparation of Art materials for learning
  • To assist with ordering, buying and cataloguing of equipment, consumables and ensuring that spending remains within the department budget
  • To use the School’s networked computers to input data, amend data and word process (using Excel, Word and Power Point applications) as may be required when carrying out normal duties
  • To support students at all Key stages in the classroom when requested
  • To attend department meetings to effect smooth running of the Art Department and its future development
  • To assist with the classroom displays and showcases in the Art Department
