Artificial Lift Field Technician

Description

We are seeking an Artificial Lift Automation Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain edge computing devices, cellular radios, and variable speed drives for our Oil & Gas customers. The ideal candidate will provide expert technical support both onsite and remotely, ensuring optimal system performance. Additionally, this role involves training customers and contractors on proper equipment use and maintenance.

Location: San Antonio / Cotulla area

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair low voltage control systems
  • Troubleshoot Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
  • Take measurements in live cabinets, up to 600V
  • Train contractors and customers on the use and installation of proprietary equipment
  • Maintain a positive relationship with customers, ensuring their needs are met
  • Independently schedule and plan work efficiently
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to solve problems and develop innovative solutions
  • Maintain organized records and complete required documentation (Work Permits, Lock Out Tag Out, Job Safety Analysis)

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with basic hand tools
  • Familiarity with electrical meters
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn new software
  • Understanding of AC and DC circuits

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1.5 years of experience working in industrial or oil field environments
  • Valid Driver's License
  • US Passport
  • Experience troubleshooting live electrical and automation equipment

Requirements

  • Willingness to travel frequently and on short notice
  • Willingness to undergo a background check
  • Ability to work outdoors in various temperatures and conditions
  • Must currently reside in West Texas or be open to relocating to the area
