Description


The ASC Nurse Manager is the designated clinical leader responsible for maintaining the day-to-day clinical operations of the center and serves as the department lead of the OR, Endoscopy, Pre Admission Testing, Sterile Processing Department, Preop and PACU. This includes but is not limited to overseeing the scheduling of surgeries and procedures for maximum efficiency, day to day inventory control and annual physical count, QA/ QI, staffing and productivity, preventative maintenance and safety, risk management and infection control. Interviews, hires, assigns work to and evaluates work performance of employees supervised and completes annual competencies. The nurse manager organizes and tracks quarterly peer review and reports to quarterly Quality Committee meeting. He/she manages oversight of the RL solutions for risk reports and escalates as necessary to the Administrator. The Nurse Manager is engaged in annual policy review, annual team member evaluation and competency/education training as well as new team member orientation and onboarding. The Nurse manager identifies and leads all clinical regulatory objectives to ensure compliance with AAAHC, AHCA, and other ASC specific requirements to ensure regulatory readiness . The Nurse Manager may perform patient care duties as needed to ensure operational efficiency and is expected to be proficient in all clinical areas of the ASC(Pre-Op, PAT, PACU, Endoscopy, OR and Sterile Processing). The Nurse Manager reports to and operates under the direction of the center Administrator. The Nurse Manager is responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain adherence to operating and clinical policies/procedure

  • Monitor daily staffing of clinical employees and assignment

  • Manages the surgical and procedural schedule to ensure operational efficiencies Coordination of operating room schedule with business office and anesthesia

  • Complete performance evaluations of all clinical employees

  • Coordination of new hire training and orientation

  • Maintenance of regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness

  • Coordination of supply chain efforts with Administrator

  • Staff Education & In-Services

  • Provides patient care as needed

  • Monitor/review performance evaluations of all employees


Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree Nursing

License/Registration

  • Registered Nurse License/Registration - Issued by Florida or Compact State

Certification

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Work Experience and Additional Information

  • At least five (5) years of operating room experience with at least two (2) of those years in management/leadership experience

  • Relevant experience may be substituted in leu of degree
