Job Description
Planet Paving Services is looking for a skilled and reliable Asphalt Crew Lead to join our team in Durango, Colorado. We’re a locally owned paving company specializing in residential and commercial paving, asphalt repairs, crack sealing, and seal coating.

As an Asphalt Crew Lead, you’ll oversee paving crews, operate paving machinery, and ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This is a hands-on role that combines leadership with on-the-ground asphalt expertise. The ideal candidate has the confidence, experience, and technical knowledge to train, mentor, and lead a crew in all aspects of asphalt work, including paving, patching, crack sealing, seal coating, and proper jobsite procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt paving equipment, rollers, skid steers, and related machinery
• Oversee and coordinate paving crews on job sites
• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections and basic equipment maintenance
• Read and follow blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes
• Perform crack sealing, seal coating, asphalt placement, and compaction
• Work collaboratively with crew members and project managers
• Follow all company and OSHA safety standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in asphalt paving
• Leadership experience or ability to supervise a crew preferred, willing to train
• Familiarity with paving processes, asphalt mix, compaction techniques, and seal coating
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Dependable, hardworking, and safety-focused
• Authorized to work in the United States
