Asphalt Laborer

Duties

• Assist with asphalt paving operations, including spreading, leveling, and compacting asphalt surfaces.
• Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers, rollers and asphalt pavers.
• Support the setup and maintenance of construction sites by preparing materials and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Conduct utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or paving begins.
• Load and unload construction materials using appropriate machinery like dump trucks or loaders.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards at all times.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met while upholding quality standards.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in construction or paving projects is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as skid steers, rollers and asphalt pavers is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Knowledge of construction site safety procedures and utility locating techniques.
• Basic understanding of asphalt paving processes and construction workflows.
• Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills on the job.
• Valid driver’s license.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
