ASPHALT Screwman

Job Summary

The Asphalt Screw man is responsible for operating and monitoring the asphalt screw (auger) system to ensure smooth, continuous, and uniform flow of hot mix asphalt during production and paving operations. The role requires coordination with plant operators and paving crews to maintain quality, safety, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the asphalt screw/auger system efficiently.
• Ensure continuous and uniform feeding of hot mix asphalt to the conveyor or paver.
• Adjust screw speed and flow as per production and paving requirements.
• Identify and report blockages, mechanical issues, or abnormal sounds immediately.
• Assist in cleaning, lubrication, and routine maintenance of the screw system.
• Coordinate with Asphalt Plant Operator and Paving Foreman for smooth operations.
• Follow asphalt mix design specifications and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and PPE usage at all times.
• Maintain housekeeping around the screw and conveyor area.
• Support shutdown and startup procedures of asphalt plant operations.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in asphalt plant or road construction projects.
• Hands-on experience operating asphalt screw/auger systems.
• Basic knowledge of asphalt plant operations and hot mix asphalt processes.
• Ability to identify mechanical faults and perform minor troubleshooting.
• Physically fit and able to work in hot and outdoor conditions.
• Knowledge of safety regulations related to asphalt operations.
• Ability to work in shifts and under tight project schedules.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Gulf / Middle East road projects (preferred).

Pay: QAR2,500.00 per month
