Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented technician to join our production team in the assembly, testing, and optimization of high-precision environmental control systems. This role requires a unique blend of mechanical assembly skills and specialized refrigeration expertise. You will be responsible for transforming raw components and complex blueprints into fully operational, high-performance units, ensuring every system meets our rigorous quality and safety standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Precision Mechanical Assembly: Build and install subassemblies, pumps, blower systems, and heaters into primary production units according to mechanical blueprints and technical drawings.
- Refrigeration System Integration: Safely and precisely integrate compressors, condensers, evaporators, and expansion valves.
- Technical Fabrication: Expertly cut, bend, shape, and solder copper and stainless-steel refrigeration lines.
- System Integrity & Charging: Perform vacuum pulls, leak checks, and system purges; calculate and charge systems with the correct refrigerant type and volume.
- Diagnostics & Quality Control: Utilize advanced gauges, micrometers, and dial indicators to test system operation, troubleshoot errors, and verify all components meet strict tolerances.
- Finishing & Sealing: Apply professional-grade gaskets, caulking, and thermal insulation to completed assemblies to ensure efficiency and aesthetic quality.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in HVAC/R assembly or mechanical field service.
- Technical Literacy: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read complex blueprints and use precision measuring devices.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 70 lbs with the use of mechanical assistance (hoists, dollies, etc.).
Safety & Certification
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Commitment to OSHA compliance and maintaining a safe, organized workspace. Forklift certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain).
