Assembly Technician

Location: Richmond, Virginia

Job Type: Full-time, Monday - Friday, Saturday Available

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Aerospace Assembly Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a passion for precision engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and testing aerospace components according to technical specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform precision assembly of aerospace components using specialized tools and equipment
  • Inspect and test assembled components to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Follow technical drawings, blueprints, diagrams, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures and assembly instructions accurately
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues
  • Operate production line machinery
  • Utilize handheld tools such as a hand-held screw, drill gun, and air gun
  • Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets engineering drawings
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
  • Rework and/or repair assembled products per engineering specification changes
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Basic use of inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and optical comparator

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in mechanical engineering or related field is a plus
  • Proven experience in watchmaking and mechanical assembly, preferably in the aerospace industry
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision and accuracy
  • Familiarity with technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

WORKING CONDITIONS AND TRAINING: Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and gloves. Loose-fitting clothes and dangling jewelry are not permitted as detailed in safety requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
