Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of the firm to provide banking, securities, and asset management services to clients around the world. In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and controls to preserve and enhance the firm's assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.

OUR IMPACT

The Value Accelerator (VA) is a pivotal component of the Asset Management Division's investment strategy. In close partnership with the corporate, growth, infrastructure, and credit investment teams, the VA drives the success of our portfolio companies throughout the investment lifecycle—from pre-investment diligence to scaling growth and optimizing exit strategies. The VA team collaborates with seasoned senior executives, top-tier professional services providers, and innovative technology providers to deliver programs and services that add value to our portfolio companies in key areas such as revenue scaling, talent, ESG and risk optimization, digital transformation, and operational excellence. As a member of the VA, you will work with the VA global lead of finance and operations, as well as the VA core global team, to support deal teams, operating advisors, and senior stakeholders whose mission is to drive value creation initiatives for our portfolio companies.

Overview of Role

VA Advisors comprise a group of talented and experienced senior executives who advise GS portfolio companies in key industry and functional areas as a critical component of the VA operating model. VA is building a finance and operations team to support and assist in the execution of processes for the advisor community. The team will manage the full lifecycle of an advisor engagement, from initial onboarding to invoicing and data monitoring on advisor impact. With our expanding advisor community and global footprint, VA requires a centralized team to run these processes efficiently, effectively, and consistently across the firm’s platform of applications and in accordance with fund mandates.

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support and assist in the execution of processes for the high-touch advisor network.
  • Ongoing maintenance and governance of advisor engagements.
  • Maintain data in the portal related to advisors and deal-level information.
  • Monitor advisors’ portfolio company engagements and report on key operational and impact metrics to help the VA core team better understand the effectiveness of engagements.
  • Create governance models for data management and visualization.
  • Support management reporting, advisor performance reviews, and ad hoc reporting based on Advisor/Partners requests.
  • Manage data on various websites hosted by the VA team.
  • Contribute to additional capabilities as we scale, develop, and expand the team and products.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Client-service and operations experience in financial services, professional services, hospitality, retail, or related fields, with a customer-first attitude.
  • Ability to identify opportunities in BAU operations and deploy smart BI solutions.
  • Strong project management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage, organize, and analyse high volumes of information.
  • Ability to work well with diverse stakeholder groups globally.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team player, willing to assist in areas not explicitly related to the job description.
  • Good judgment with an analytical mindset, independent thinker, resourceful, and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks independently, efficiently, and effectively.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in data management, reporting/sourcing data from tools such as Alteryx, SQL, Tableau, Excel, etc. Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Zoom is also desirable.
  • Highest degree of integrity, professionalism, diplomacy, and discretion required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
