Brown & Brown is seeking an Assistant Account Manager to join our growing team in Roseland, NJ.
The Assistant Account Manager supports the Account Manager in delivering timely, high-quality service to commercial clients, contributing to client satisfaction and retention goals. This role is responsible for processing daily communications, maintaining accurate account files, preparing insurance documents, and assisting with underwriting and renewal tasks. The Assistant will also support data entry, premium breakdowns, follow-ups, and clerical duties, while developing a strong working knowledge of commercial lines coverage.
How You Will Contribute:
  • Process daily mail, including faxes and e-mail.
  • Answer and process all telephone requests.
  • Maintain account files in an orderly sequence according to established procedures.
  • Enter all required data into system to maintain current file data.
  • Review commercial applications, renewal requests and endorsements for adherence to underwriting authority and guidelines as established by the company’s carriers.
  • Prepare and process binders of insurance, policies, endorsements, certificates of insurance, audits and cancellations as defined in the company procedures manual as directed by CSR.
  • Secure loss runs and experience modification worksheets on assigned accounts.
  • Maintain suspense or follow-up system for correspondence/requests.
  • Process premium finance agreements as needed.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Must obtain a Property and Casualty Producer License within 3 months of start date.
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Large Lines Position requires a college degree, or equivalent work experience/designation
  • 2 years’ service experience in the insurance industry
  • Willingness to learn the agency management system
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to understand written and oral communication and to interpret abstract information
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Organization and prioritization skills
Pay Range
$33.65 - $34.86 Hourly
The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
