Position Overview:

Verity Partners is looking for a Accounts Assistant to support our UK accounting operations. You will be involved in bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts, and year-end finalization for UK-based small businesses.

This role is best suited for individuals who are part-qualified accountants, highly organised, and familiar with UK accounting and tax frameworks. It’s a great opportunity for candidates looking to gain international exposure while working in a supportive and fast-paced remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform bookkeeping for UK-based clients
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and management accounts
• Assist in preparing and finalising year-end accounts for UK small businesses
• Support preparation and filing of Self-Assessment Tax Returns
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure timely reporting
• Work collaboratively with UK-based accountants and senior managers
• Handle ad hoc financial tasks and queries as needed

Candidate Requirements

• Part-qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA/ACA – passed at least 8–9 exams)
• 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience
• Knowledge of:
• UK corporation tax, income tax, and VAT
• UK statutory requirements and limited company financial statements
• Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
• Ability to work to strict deadlines and manage multiple assignments
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
