Assistant Asset Manager-Commercial Real Estate

Job Description

The Assistant Asset Manager executes a broad range of property/asset management support functions. This role ensures smooth internal operations by providing critical support to the Asset Manager in financial reporting, contract administration, and property management-related tasks.

Responsibilities*

  • Provide support to Asset Manager, Property Managers, and Legal team.
  • Assist in onboarding/offboarding new properties.
  • Maintain current vendor contracts for all properties.
  • Research vendor invoices, tenant ledgers, and lease details in Yardi.
  • Assist with contract administration and tracking for projects.
  • Maintain sample/catalog library and order materials as needed.
  • Coordinate special projects and provide general administrative support, including filing, copying, and correspondence.
  • Track capital improvement projects, verifying schedules, budgets, and vendor performance.
  • Review rent rolls, tenant arrears, leasing activity, and occupancy trends.
  • Work with leasing brokers to track pipeline activity, analyze proposals, and support negotiation of LOIs and lease terms.
  • Evaluate market comps, rental rates, tenant demand, and competitive positioning.
  • Coordinate tenant onboarding processes and support retention initiatives.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in commercial property management required.

Strong familiarity with commercial leases and property operations.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Yardi software.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
