Assistant / Associate Professor Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Key Responsibilities

1. Academic & Teaching Leadership

  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate curricula, courses, and learning activities aligned with College educational goals.

  • Mentor and supervise students in academic, clinical, and research settings.

  • Provide clinical supervision and instruction within affiliated healthcare facilities.

  • Participate in student assessment and academic program review.

2. Research & Scholarship

  • Lead and contribute to research projects aligned with College and national health priorities.

  • Publish original research in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.

  • Secure competitive research grants and external funding.

  • Present research findings at national and international conferences.

3. Professional & Community Engagement

  • Deliver clinical services as required within affiliated clinical facilities.

  • Contribute to community health initiatives and public engagement activities.

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with external organizations, regulatory bodies, and academic institutions.

  • Offer continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities for peers and healthcare professionals.

4. Administrative & Strategic Contribution

  • Support departmental budget planning and resource management.

  • Contribute to workforce planning, policy development, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Participate in College committees and strategic projects as required.

5. Self-Development & Leadership

  • Pursue continuous professional and academic development.

  • Stay current with advancements in dental/medical education, research, and clinical practice.

  • Model leadership, collaboration, and ethical professional conduct.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Education

  • PhD from an accredited institution.

  • Fellowship/Board certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant medical discipline.

2. Language

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Arabic language skills preferred.

3. Experience

  • Minimum 10 years as Associate/Assistant Professor or equivalent.

  • Minimum 20 peer-reviewed publications.

  • Demonstrated success in research funding and academic leadership.
