Job Summary:

Duties:
- Assist in maintaining accurate general ledger accounts through data entry and account reconciliation using accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms.
- Prepare and process journal entries, ensuring proper debits and credits are recorded in accordance with GAAP.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions by verifying invoices, processing payments, and managing billing records.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure all financial data aligns accurately across systems.
- Assist with payroll processing and related tax compliance tasks to ensure timely and accurate employee payments as needed.
- Help prepare financial reports by gathering data, analyzing account activity, and writing summaries for management review
- Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and assisting with financial analysis for departmental or organizational budgets.
Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and general ledger accounting principles
- Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and balance sheet reconciliation
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and governmental or non-profit accounting practices is a plus
- Familiarity with technical accounting concepts including payroll processing, tax experience, and financial report writing
- Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently for data entry tasks
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate financial records
- Basic understanding of budgeting processes and financial concepts to support organizational planning efforts
