Assistant Branch Manager - Sohar

Job Purpose:

The Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) - Sohar overseas the efficient and effective operation of the branch. He/she works closely with the Branch Manager to ensure that all operational activities run smoothly and adheres to the Bank's policies and procedures. The ABM - Sohar assists in supervision the branch staff and foster a customer-centric environment to enhance overall customer satisfaction and achieve business objectives.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Provides day-to-day supervision and support for branch operations, ensuring compliance with all banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversees various administrative functions, including cash management, transaction processing, account opening, loan application and closing procedures.
  • Fosters a customer-centric culture within the branch by encouraging staff to provide exceptional service to customers.
  • Handles escalated customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally, resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Assists in training and developing branch staff to improve their product knowledge, customer service skills, and operational efficiency.
  • Conducts regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance team productivity.
  • Collaborates with the sales team to promote banking products and services effectively.
  • Provides insights and suggestions to enhance sales strategies and achieve branch sales targets.
  • Ensures the implementation of risk management practices such as fraud prevention, compliance and security measures to safeguard the bank's assets and maintain a secure banking environment.
  • Prepares regular reports on branch performance, operational metrics, and customer feedback.
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation of operational activities and ensures they are properly archived.
  • Oversees cash handling procedures, vault management and ATM operations.
  • Maintains optimal cash levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess cash holdings.
  • Identifies opportunities for process optimization and efficiency within the branch operations.
  • Collaborates with the Branch Manager and other stakeholders to implement best practices and streamline workflows.
  • Stays updated on banking regulations and industry trends to guarantee branch's adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Implements necessary changes and updates to comply with new regulations.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in branch operations management with experience in sales, cash management and customer service in the banking industry is preferred.
  • Ability to achieve sales targets with proven track records.
  • Ability to maintain high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Good understanding of banking offered products.
  • Intermediate in Microsoft Office suite applications includes Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
