Job Summary
The Assistant Chief Engineer (Civil) supports the Chief Engineer in managing all structural maintenance activities. This role ensures that the building, infrastructure, and facilities are maintained in safe, functional, and compliant condition while supporting daily operations and long-term projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Chief Engineer in planning, organizing, and supervising in maintenance works.
- Oversee structural repairs, renovations, and refurbishment projects.
- Ensure proper maintenance of walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, waterproofing, and façades.
- Manage civil contractors and vendors, ensuring quality and timely completion.
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings and infrastructure.
- Prepare work schedules, maintenance reports, and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and local regulations.
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and housekeeping teams.
- Monitor material usage, tools, and inventory.
- Support budgeting and cost control for civil works.
- Handle emergency repairs and urgent maintenance issues.
- Train and supervise technicians and maintenance staff.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering or Civil qualification .
- Minimum 4–5 years ( preferable Hospitality ) of experience in building maintenance, construction, or facilities management
- Experience in hospitality, commercial buildings, or large facilities preferred.
- Knowledge of construction materials, finishing works, and structural maintenance.
- Familiarity with local authority regulations and safety standards.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and maintenance management systems (CMMS).
