Assistant Chief Medical Officer (ACMO)

Karachi, Pakistan

The ACMO will work closely with the Medical Superintendent (MS) to oversee medical staff performance, ensure adherence to clinical standards, and contribute to hospital management and policy implementation. This is a leadership role requiring a strong clinical background, strategic thinking, and proven experience in healthcare management.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the MS in managing and supervising all clinical departments.

Implement and monitor clinical policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Lead and mentor senior medical staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Participate in executive-level decision-making and strategic planning.

Oversee compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and safety protocols.

Collaborate with administrative teams to enhance patient care delivery and resource utilization.

Address patient safety issues and oversee quality improvement initiatives.

Handle staff evaluations, conflict resolution, and performance management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

MBBS degree (required); Postgraduate qualification preferred (MPH or MBA, FCPS, etc .).

At least 5–7 years of post-graduate clinical experience.

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a management or leadership role within a healthcare setting.

Strong understanding of hospital operations, healthcare regulations, and clinical governance.

Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in managing hospital accreditation processes (e.g., JCI, ISO).

Proficiency in healthcare IT systems and medical data analysis.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multidisciplinary teams.
