Assistant Child Care Teacher - Edward Jones YMCA, Maryland Heights

• Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
• Nurtures children through purposeful programming dedicated to building achievement and belonging in youth and relationships among youth and within families.
• Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Follows all procedures and standards.
• Ensures ongoing, systematic observations of individual children and consistently completes Developmental Portfolio.
• Cultivates positive relationships, conducts parent conferences, and maintains effective communication with parents.
• Engages parents/families connecting them to the YMCA
• Maintains program site and equipment.
• Maintains required program records.
• Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
• Assists with administrative duties, problem solving and family/YMCA communication
• Must ensure and maintain confidentiality of family, children and staff
• Performs all other duties as assigned

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Preferred to be working toward CDA; Associates or Bachelor’s Degree related to Early Childhood Education or equivalent
• Preferred at least 1 year of experience in child care
• Ability to relate to children, families, branch staff members and volunteers
