Assistant Childcare Provider

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising children during daily activities, playtime, meals, and rest periods to promote safety and engagement.
  • Support classroom management by helping organize activities that encourage social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Implement age-appropriate educational activities that stimulate learning and curiosity in line with childhood development principles.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by adhering to health and safety protocols at all times.
  • Provide basic first aid when necessary and communicate effectively with children to address their needs compassionately.
  • Collaborate with lead caregivers to observe children’s progress and report any behavioral or developmental concerns.
  • Support special education initiatives and work with children with disabilities to ensure inclusive participation in all activities.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom settings is preferred. Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education practices, childhood development milestones, and behavior management techniques.
  • Certification or training in first aid and CPR is highly desirable; willingness to obtain if not already certified.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
  • Ability to remain energetic, patient, attentive, and flexible in a dynamic childcare environment.
