Assistant Compliance Manager – (Garment Manufacturing)

Job Summary

The Assistant Compliance Manager supports the Compliance Manager in ensuring that garment manufacturing operations adhere to local labor laws, buyer codes of conduct, social compliance standards, environmental regulations, workplace safety requirements. The role involves conducting audits, monitoring factory compliance, maintaining documentation, coordinating with internal departments to ensure ethical legally compliant production practices.

Key Responsibilities1. Social & Labor Compliance

· Ensure compliance with local labor laws, wage regulations, working hours, employment standards.

· Monitor adherence to buyer Codes of Conduct international standards (e.g., BSCI, WRAP, SA8000, ISO9001 etc.)

· Conduct internal social compliance audits factory inspections.

· Address non-compliance issues follow up on corrective action plans (CAP)

2. Health, Safety & Workplace Compliance

· Monitor factory health & safety practices in line with legal buyer requirements.

· Support implementation of fire safety, building safety, emergency preparedness programs.

· Conduct safety drills awareness sessions.

3. Environmental Compliance

· Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to waste disposal, chemical handling, wastewater treatment, emissions.

· Monitor chemical management systems (MSDS, inventory control).

4. Documentation & Audit Preparation

· Maintain accurate records for audits certifications.

· Prepare documentation for buyer audits third-party inspections.

· Coordinate with HR, Production, Quality teams during audit visits.

· Track audit findings ensure timely closure.

5. Training & Awareness

  • Conduct employee training on labor rights, workplace safety and ethical practices.
  • Support grievance handling mechanisms worker welfare programs.
  • Promote a culture of transparency compliance within the factory.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in compliance, social audit, HR compliance, or EHS within the garment or textile manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of local labor laws international compliance standards.
  • Experience handling buyer audits is highly preferred.

Required Skills

· Knowledge of social compliance standards (BSCI, ISO9001, OCS, OEKO-TEX etc.)

· Understanding of labor law factory regulations.

· Audit corrective action management skills.

· Strong documentation reporting ability.

· Good communication coordination skills.

· Attention to detail high ethical standards.
