JLL Project & Development Services (P&DS) MENA provides consulting, design, management and build services to tenant and owners, leveraging technology and digital solutions to drive outstanding service delivery.
We bring a life-cycle perspective to our clients, from development solutions to our core services in programme, project and cost management and consulting in digital solutions, tenancy management, sustainability, leisure & entertainment, and workplace & design.
RoleWe are seeking an experienced Assistant Contracts Manager to join our Project Delivery Services (PDS) team in Egypt. This role requires a contracts professional with strong knowledge of standard forms of contracts to provide comprehensive contract administration support to project and cost management delivery teams. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing contractual obligations, claims assessment, and ensuring compliance throughout the project lifecycle while safeguarding client interests.
What this Job Involves• Provide contract administration advice to project and cost management delivery teams
- Advise on contractual obligations of all project parties
- Participate in preparing assessments for potential claims and disputes
- Monitor contract performance and compliance in accordance with project plans
- Prepare comprehensive claim responses and variation orders
- Participate in negotiation of claims with project parties and stakeholders
- Provide expert advice regarding interpretation of contract terms and conditions
- Prepare and issue contractual notices as appropriate
- Participate in preparing contract analysis reports highlighting concerns and risks
- Prepare responses to all contractual correspondence
- Maintain accurate records of all contracts and related documentation
- Issue contractual notices in accordance with contract requirements
- Draft and issue variation instructions and/or orders
- Liaise with clients on all contractual aspects and requirements
- Review contractual merit of change requests and contractor notices of changes
- Review contractor claims for legitimacy and contractual compliance
- Participate in drafting contract amendments as requested
- Ensure fulfillment of contractual obligations and proactively identify events where client rights need safeguarding.
Desired Skills & Experience• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management required
- 5+ years of relevant contract management experience
- Good command and knowledge of standard forms of contracts
- Consulting experience highly advantageous
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to use clear, systematic approach to solving complex issues
- Strong capability to communicate solutions in effective, efficient, high-level manner
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary team environment
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic
- Strong negotiation and presentation abilities
- Proficiency in contract analysis and risk assessment
- Experience with variation management and claims administration
- Knowledge of construction law and contract principles
- Ability to interpret complex contractual documentation.
