HOURS: Regular part-time hours
SUMMARY: Directs recordkeeping and accounting activities of Field and Main Bank using generally accepted accounting standards. Makes recommendations relating to budget preparation, profit forecasts, and operational changes as needed. Establishes, coordinates and maintains an accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of the bank and provides financial consolidation of branches and subsidiaries. Prepares and interprets financial reports to senior management. Maintains a position of trust and responsibility by keeping all customer and internal business confidential.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year institution plus additional lending, compliance and audit related training. Master’s degree in relevant field or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience of bank experience or equivalent education in bank finance and accounting procedures and policies.
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Experience with Jack Henry, CRM software, or financial planning software is a plus
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administrates financial functions of the institution.
  • Provides input on purchases and monitoring of the investment portfolio (including pledging).
  • Works with management in developing budgets, profit plans, strategic plans, goals, and product development.
  • Oversees the activities of the disbursement department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense reports, cash control, payroll processing, quarter and year-end payroll, and total corporate payroll tax compliance. Supervises the accounts payable function.
  • Manages bank accruals and journal entries.
  • Books activity on charged off loans or deposit accounts and employ.ee accounts.
  • Maintains fixed asset and asset/liability management programs.
  • Works with regulatory authorities, external accountants, auditors, and other departments to provide financial information and provide guidance.
  • Performs accounting functions relative to the holding company, subsidiary, and the bank's non-profit.
  • Distributes rate comparison rates.
  • Oversees account reconciliations and balancing.
  • Manages accounts and activity with Federal Home Loan Bank, Fed Reserve, and Correspondent banks.
  • Prepares accounting entries for DOA Charge Offs, Loan Charge Offs, Repos and OREO.
  • Responds to CFO as assigned, with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs.
  • Provides assistance to CEO and/or President upon request.

ADA REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in an open office setting; one must be able to concentrate and perform work in an area that will likely result in the interruptions of one's duties. Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
