Job Purpose


The Assistant Creative Manager develops campaign concepts and creative direction alongside the Creative Manager, leading copy craft on assigned campaigns and acting as the bridge between concepting and execution. Bilingual Arabic and English is preferred. This role builds toward full Creative Manager accountability while owning material creative workstreams today.

The Assistant Creative Manager shifts the balance from pure copy craft toward creative direction: shaping campaign concepts, interrogating briefs, presenting concepts to stakeholders, and partnering with Art Direction on integrated expression. The role leads scripting and long-form copy on hero campaigns and owns cross-functional creative alignment for assigned workstreams. It is the role where a strong senior copywriter starts operating as a creative director in training.

Success looks like campaign concepts that earn stakeholder support on first presentation, creative direction that holds up through execution, strong bilingual craft on assigned campaigns, and a Creative Manager who is able to delegate meaningful creative leadership without oversight on every decision.


Key Responsibilities

Concept Development & Creative Direction

  • Develop campaign concepts and creative direction for assigned briefs in partnership with the Creative Manager
  • Translate brand strategy into creative frameworks, narrative arcs, and campaign storytelling systems
  • Lead concept pitches to internal stakeholders, including Brand, Commercial, and Country partners
  • Iterate concepts based on stakeholder and Head of Creative Content feedback with clear rationale
  • Own the concept-to-direction handoff into Art Direction and Motion partnerships
  • Maintain concept-development documentation for reference and review
  • Lead concept workshops with Creative Copywriters and Art Directors

Copy Craft Across Campaigns & Always-On Content

  • Lead copy craft for assigned campaigns in Arabic and English, from hero assets through CRM cascade
  • Develop long-form copy: manifestos, brand films, campaign scripts
  • Write and review daily copy across all channels: social media, CRM (emails, push notifications, SMS), product pages, banners, and digital content
  • Own copy quality end-to-end on assigned work, from concept through always-on execution
  • Maintain narrative consistency across hero campaigns and the always-on content that surrounds them

Cross-Functional Creative Alignment

  • Partner with Art Direction & Design, Motion, Photography, and Creative AI on integrated campaign delivery
  • Liaise with Brand Strategy on guardrail alignment and campaign brief interrogation
  • Attend Creative Operations intake forums and shape briefs before creative kick-off
  • Represent Creative Content in cross-craft reviews for assigned campaigns
  • Build working relationships with Regional Brand Managers and country marketing counterparts
  • Partner with CRM and Social on channel-specific copy and narrative adaptation

Stakeholder Presentation & Influence

  • Present creative concepts to internal stakeholders with clear narrative, rationale, and options
  • Defend creative decisions with evidence and craft-led reasoning, not opinion
  • Build stakeholder trust through consistent delivery and honest communication on risk
  • Adapt concepts based on legitimate stakeholder input while holding the craft bar
  • Represent the creative-content perspective in creative-review and brand-review forums

Team Development & Mentorship

  • Mentor Sr. Creative Copywriter and Creative Copywriters on concept craft, not just copy execution
  • Contribute to Creative Copywriter development plans with specific concept-craft objectives
  • Host concept workshops and craft forums with the team
  • Review junior concept work and provide craft-level feedback
  • Identify team members ready for greater responsibility and advocate for them

Agency & Vendor Partnership

  • Brief and manage agency partners on assigned campaigns within the Creative Manager's authority
  • Review agency creative outputs, approving or requesting revision with clear direction
  • Maintain agency relationships at working level, escalating to Creative Manager when needed
  • Capture agency learnings to inform future briefs and roster decisions

Craft Standards & Continuous Improvement

  • Uphold craft standards on assigned campaigns, drawing on the function's craft reference library
  • Contribute to the function's craft standards evolution with documented examples
  • Lead post-campaign reviews with cross-craft partners, capturing learnings
  • Drive continuous improvement in concept-to-execution workflows

Qualifications & Experience


Education

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Creative Writing, or related.


Experience

  • 6-8 years in copywriting and creative concept development.
  • Native or near-native Gulf Arabic (Khaleeji dialect). Copy should sound like how people actually talk in the GCC.
  • Exceptional written English.
  • Bilingual Arabic and English strongly preferred.
  • Agency and client-side experience both valued.
  • Track record of leading campaigns from concept through execution and of presenting to senior stakeholders.
