Assistant Director - Center on Religion and Politics

Position Summary

The Assistant Director reports directly to the Director and manages and directs activities, policies, procedures, and strategies to support the Director’s implementation of Center programs and goals. Acts as primary liaison on behalf of Director to university departments including advancement, marketing and communications, and chancellor’s and provost’s offices, as well as other partners including community organizations, student groups, etc.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Directs the Center’s communications and marketing functions including event promotion/publicity, website and social media, marketing, and collateral materials.
  • Provides support of online journal activities as needed.
  • Develops and directs office administrative policies, procedures, and strategies, including supervision of administrative staff and student workers performing office management, financial processing, HR and payroll, and course administration support.
  • Provides budgetary oversight, ensuring appropriate allocations and expenses.
  • Collaborates with Center director and faculty to develop Center’s public and academic event plan.
  • Supervises event management and program delivery activities.
  • Supports Center’s Alumni & Development efforts acting as liaison with university advancement, as well as supporting direct relationships between Center and donors/prospects.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Salary Range

$53,100.00 - $90,600.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
