Purpose of Position:
Under general supervision, with some latitude for initiative and independent judgment, assists in the coordination and implementation of plans and practices for the presentation of the objectives and achievements of the System to the public and its employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Participates in the establishment and implementation of goodwill programs to develop a better understanding of the Systems’ policies, methods and achievements by the local communities it serves.
2. Informs the System leaders of the policies and practices concerning the preparation of public addresses and articles as it relates to the System.
3. Collects data to be used to survey the degree and nature of the acceptance of the Systems’ policies and activities by the public, community and health care personnel.
4. Assists in the preparation of information regarding the System and its’ health care settings for release to the public.
5. Acts as liaison to the appropriate agencies, community and employee groups to assist in the formulation of the Systems’ information programs.
6. Performs other related duties, as directed.
1.Bachelors’ degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Management,Public Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline; and,
2.Two (2) years of responsible public relations experience involving the press and communicationsmedia, employee communications, community affairs, educational affairs, public information,corporate and business affairs, governmental and legislative affairs; or
3.Satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. However, all candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in disciplines, as listed in “1” above.
