    Assistant Director for Human Resources


    JOB GOAL
    To provide support to the District through the Human Resources Department. Primary goals and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, employee recruitment, employee retention, benefits, employee certification, employee onboarding, and maintaining social media and other marketing efforts within the HR Department.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Current Arizona Elementary or Secondary Certificate, School Administrator Certificate, or other equivalent experience in Human Resources recruitment and retention practices in lieu of certification.
    • Successful experience maintaining social media platforms and social media marketing campaigns preferred
    • Demonstrated administrative skills and leadership ability
    • Demonstrated knowledge of technology skills
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize matters and multi-task with multiple projects and competing priorities
    • Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently and collaboratively
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate in oral and written form
    • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Assist in the hiring process of the best-qualified personnel to include active recruitment, employee retention, and employee engagement.
    • Oversight of the Department's employee onboarding and orientation processes.
    • Maintain the Department's social media presence and social media campaigns related to employee recruitment and employee retention.
    • Maintain the Department's website pages and content in collaboration with the Public Relations Department.
    • Maintain and grow the District's and the Department's relationships and partnerships with community partners to develop a pipeline of qualified employment candidates (universities, colleges, community colleges, neighboring school districts).
    • Assist in the development and implementation of procedures for the processing and maintenance of personnel records and reports.
    • Effectively communicate with prospective employees and active employees.
    • Assist the HR Leadership team with maintaining and updating board policies, regulations, departmental procedures and employee handbooks.
    • Remain knowledgeable of changing laws, regulations and modern practices related to Human Resources in the public school realm, and beyond public schools.
    • Serve as a liaison with the Department of Education to ensure staff member's certification remain current and applications are expedited.
    • Supervise the Benefits Coordinator and all of the operations surrounding Benefits including Open Enrollment.
    • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of data necessary for the management of the Human Resources Department.
    • Assist staff members with the process of becoming certified and/or re-certified including, but not limited to, Emergency Certificates, Substitute Certificates and Fingerprint Clearance Cards.
    • Assist in conducting investigations related to personnel issues as needed.
    • Maintain efficient practices and procedure to efficiently and expeditiously organize and route job applicants to hiring principals and departmental supervisors.
    • Assists with maintaining the professional growth programs, including, but not limited to, grow-your-own programs for teachers and other employee groups.
    • Oversees the District's volunteer program.
    • Conducts Exit interviews.
    • Positions in this class typically require: reaching, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
    • Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
    • Perform such other work-related tasks and duties as may be assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
    • Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures related to personnel and employment relations.
    • Knowledge of applicable Cartwright School District and departmental policies and procedures.
    • Knowledge of maintaining social media platforms and website content.
    • Knowledge of modern practices of employee retention, recruitment, growth and engagement.
