Job Description
The Assistant Director for Indirect (Non-Clinical) Sourcing is a key member of the OSUWMC Supply Chain leadership team. The Assistant Director will develop comprehensive and cohesive sourcing plans that encompass the full scope of OSUWMC’s shared services operations, encompassing Human Resources, Legal, Marketing, Revenue Cycle Management, etc. while operating in the unique capacity to ensure that the annual spend of each primary customer is identified and leveraged to the maximum extent possible. As a member of the Supply Chain senior leadership team, the Assistant Director makes significant contributions to the delivery of high value health care, positioning OSUWMC as one of the most advanced, trusted, and affordable healthcare providers. Through the development and execution of robust strategy planning and supplier engagement, the Assistant Director will:
The Assistant Director leads OSUWMC Supply Chain’s strategy for Indirect/non-clinical sourcing with the objective to deliver maximum value and competitive advantage to the business while ensuring compliance to the highest ethical business standards and Ohio State Law; to act as a spokesperson and ambassador for change; and to ensure continuous improvement and development of the Sourcing Process. Works with individuals and groups within and outside the organization to develop and manage tactics designed to improve the strategic direction, positioning, and performance of OSUWMC and its affiliated organizations, and lower total cost of ownership, acquisition, or operation of a business entity.
The Assistant Director – Non-Clinical Sourcing has responsibility to develop, implement and monitor policies, procedures and systems that ensure cost-effective procurement processes across all of OSUWMC. The Assistant Director is the central point of contact to prioritize sourcing and savings projects in the non-clinical space, to improve supplier performance metrics (quality, delivery, price), and to interface across multiple cross-functional support services to align strategies in support of the extended enterprise, including the university. Other responsibilities include those designated by the Chief Supply Chain Officer.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Healthcare or relevant field and 7 years of relevant experience.
