Aggie One Stop enables students to address their most common enrollment-related needs. The Assistant Director will assist in many aspects of departmental operations, supervise people and programs, and maintain responsibility for advising in areas served by Aggie One Stop. We are looking for a strong leader who will promote collaboration and cooperation between stakeholders to provide customers with the best experience and satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a people-person, problem-solver, and self-starter. This position requires significant people skills including ease with communication, patience, and teamwork. What You Need to Know
Salary Range: $65,000.00 - $69,000.00/annually (Based on selected hire’s qualifications)

Essential Duties/Tasks
Personnel Operations
Provides leadership, supervises, coaches and mentors’ staff, which includes hiring, training, coaching, disciplining, evaluating, terminating, and recommending changes to positions descriptions or reclassifications. Resolves workplace conflicts, engages, and motivates employees, collaborates with colleagues and others, delegates work tasks, and addresses performance issues. Ensures proper training for team members. Reviews and approves time off following university rules and policies. Coordinates team activities and initiatives to maximize effectiveness of team and with other areas of the unit. Develops curriculum and provides instruction and training for on-boarding team members. Works with leadership to develop refresher training plans and schedules to maintain staff knowledge on subject matter pertinent to current semester timelines. Coordinates outreach opportunities among staff and manages outreach communications between Aggie One Stop and campus stakeholders.
Advising Leadership
Directs initiatives and leads One Stop functions in advising. This includes Admissions, Scholarships, Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Billing, and Military Educational Benefits. Works closely with One Stop staff and home offices to ensure One Stop effectiveness and efficiency, in a manner consistent with Texas A&M core values. Solves escalated student inquiries, issues or concerns and appropriately address customer concerns. Ensures adequate coverage in daily operations that include in person, phones, email, and other processing. Communicate with staff to ensure they have the tools necessary to perform their jobs. Determines work priorities, assignments, and deadlines for staff. Monitors One Stop operations for quality assurance purposes for exceptional customer service. Achieves consistently high levels of customer satisfaction through integrated delivery of services to external customers and internal partners. Assists in planning and budgeting for department.
Policies and Procedures
Manages the efforts of ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed and implemented relating to customer service and other services provided by Aggie One Stop. Participates in planning, directing, and coordinating procedural matters to meet department goals and objectives. Maintains advanced knowledge of current federal, state, and institutional policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to financial aid, student employment, scholarships, veterans’ educational benefits, student billing, registrar, and admissions. Reviews complex rules, regulations procedures and policies relating to financial aid, student employment, and scholarships, veterans’ educational benefits, student billing, registrar, and admissions. Monitors compliance with all unit, department, University, and government standards, policies, and procedures. May work with state, regional, or national committees concerning integrated student services or other appropriate areas. Attends departmental and other external training.
Technology
Coordinates and manages the development and adoption of technology tools that mediate and improve students’ interactions with Aggie One Stop. Participates in identifying new technologies and approaches that enable high-quality service experiences across industries. Handles special projects as assigned by the Associate Director or Director.
General
Participates in the strategic planning process for the One Stop and make recommendations for enhancing departmental operations, including the establishment and implementation of short- and long-term goals. Attends local, state, and national workshops, and conferences, host and present at various workshops.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Six years of progressively responsible experience in a professional administrative role, to include some supervisory experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent customer service skills and knowledge of basic service etiquette.
Knowledge of admissions, scholarships & financial aid, registrar, billing, veterans’ educational benefits, and other enrollment services areas.
Ability to solve complex problems.
Effective management and counseling skills.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Exceptional public speaking skills.
Demonstrated ability to write clearly, concisely, and correctly.

The Aggie One Stop will provide customer service for the following offices: Admissions Customer Service, Scholarships & Financial Aid, Student Business Services and Registrar.
