JOB TITLE: Assistant Director of Marketing Multimedia (Videography/Photography/Media)

CLASSIFICATIONS: Exempt/Full-Time (40 hours)

REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing and Communications

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communication, design, videography, photography, and/or public relations is required. Graduate degree in a related field is desirable. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing or communications fields with demonstrated success is required. College or independent school experience a plus. Must maintain outstanding leadership skills with the ability to analyze and evaluate their own performance as well as the performance of others. Knowledge and use of industry-standard (Adobe) software and Apple computer technology, social media management, and excellent writing skills required. Must possess the personal skills necessary to work effectively with all levels of constituencies. Ability to conceive and communicate creative ideas and strategies. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing a sophisticated media content and promotions strategy. Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Strong organizational skills that will effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines. Demonstrated expertise in design, photography, videography, and production with various digital media including social, podcast, YouTube, and more. Demonstrated and successful marketing management experience and ability to manage media team with accountability for content deliverables. Must be energetic, organized forward-thinking, and a creative problem-solver.

Job Description:

The Assistant Director of Marketing Multimedia is responsible for supporting the execution and management of the school’s integrated marketing and communication plan through storytelling through video, photography, podcast, and social media emulating the vision, mission, core values, and strategic goals of Mount Paran Christian School. The program focuses on competitive positioning of the school in the marketplace through coordinated brand management, increased visibility and awareness, internal communications support, and enhancements in image and reputation. The role manages a small team of media creative professionals. The role reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and is a member of Mount Paran Christian School’s Advancement Team.

Requirements:

Technical Requirements:

  • Proficient in Video editing software (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, DaVinci, After Effects)
  • Proficient in Photography and photo shoot art direction (Lightroom, Photoshop, Camera equipment, lighting technology)
  • Knowledge of exposure, frame rate, composure, shutter speed, camera set-up,
  • Proficient in Photo Editing Software (Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop)
  • Knowledge of basic audio recording, storyboarding, preparing projects for editing, post production, acquiring and documenting music rights, adding graphics, and animations to videos.
  • Proven multi-tasking and technology problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the school’s mission and leadership and is active in the life and culture of the school community
  • Complies with conditions as stated in employee contract, life and conduct statement, and employee handbook
  • Shows support and high esteem for MPCS and models Christian behavior at all times
  • Ministers to students compassionately and sincerely so they may continue to grow in their faith
  • Accepts the work at Mount Paran Christian School as a personal calling and identify themselves as ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ
  • Executes media team planning and project management, keeping tasks moving forward and on time
  • Plans and executes videos, photography, and school’s media channels that enhance the visibility and public perception of MPCS by telling our school story
  • Articulates benefits of the brand through all media communication, presenting the uniqueness of MPCS in a positive manner to differentiate school programs from our competitors
  • Focuses on photo, video, podcast, and social media initiatives for the marketing, admission, and development teams to promote all advancement initiatives and campaigns
  • Supports media team in content generation for athletics, arts, academics, and Christian life departments
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of developing and executing value-driven content for social media, website, podcast, blog, etc.
  • Plans, creates, films, edits, and implements internal and external video initiatives for communications or school advertising
  • Manages video content on Vimeo/YouTube platforms as well as the school website and ensures school platforms are up to date and robust
  • Produces vlog/podcast content ensuring clarity and consistency in branding and positioning, with a clear identity that reflects the school’s mission, vision, values, and philosophy
  • Maintains common and consistent editorial and graphic standards across visual publications for branding integrity
  • Responsible for personally assigned media projects and keeping team on task while keeping the school’s value proposition and marketing strategy at the forefront of developed content
  • Leads media team in planning and coordinating photo/video media days for athletics and ensures event photography coverage
  • Manages sports multimedia team for social media promotions and game-day content
  • Responsible for setup and team execution of all school portraiture twice a year
  • Maintains online photography warehouse and ecommerce site for families
  • Manages video and photo cold storage and historical archives
  • Manages the use of external resources, rentals, photo/video equipment, or vendors when needed
  • To support the school, mission, and leadership and be active in the life and culture of the school community

Physical Requirements:

Lifting equipment, boxes, and other packages not exceeding 50 lbs. (males) and 25 lbs. (females); boxes heavier than 50 pounds should be lifted while wearing a back brace; excellent cognitive and hearing abilities; significant computer work.
