ASSISTANT DRILLER
Assistant Driller required on contract bases for 12 months
Qualification & Experience
03 Year Diploma in Associate Engineering
(DAE) or Intermediate (F.Sc.).
Operates the rig equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve targets.
2.2 Assists the driller with drilling operations including relieving the driller, while
supervised, in drilling ahead, making connections, etc.
2.3 Assists during tripping drill pipe including relieving and/or assisting derrickman and
relieving the driller, while supervised, in operation of drawworks and other equipment.
2.4 Assists in running and cementing of casing.
2.5 Prepares BHA and rig floor equipment for tripping, casing and cementing operations.
2.6 Assists in maintenance and repair of drilling equipment including supervising drill
crew’s daily.
2.7 Preventive maintenance on drawworks, mud pumps, rotary, swivel and other drill floor
equipment.
2.8 Monitors mud system and supervise solids control equipment and mud mixing
operations.
2.9 Repairs or assists in repair of non-drilling equipment as directed by supervisor.
2.10 Locates and dresses tools.
2.11 Calculates ton miles on drilling line.
2.12 Calculates drill string and BHA measurements.
2.13 Assists driller in maintaining records and logs.
2.14 Demonstrates well control knowledge.
2.15 Uses technical manuals including cementing tables, hydraulics books, drilling
manuals,
composite catalogues, manufacturer operating manuals etc.
2.16 Reads and interprets various types of gauges, meters and instruments such as torque
meter, weight indicator, pressure gauges, various chart recorders etc.
2.17 Assists in supervision of drill crew.
2.18 Assists in training of drill crew.
2.19 Maintains good communication with drillers Rig Superintendent and other
departments.
2.20 Provides leadership and motivation to the crew.
2.21 Assists with PMS.
2.22 Assists driller in other drilling operations.
2.23 Perform any other duties as assigned by driller or Operation Manager.
Qualification & Experience
