Overview
Join our dynamic finance team as an Assistant Fiscal Officer, where you will play a vital role in managing financial operations with precision and integrity. Duties
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and account reconciliation using accounting software of UAN (Uniform Accounting Network) provided by the State of Ohio.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounting to maintain accurate financial records.
- Support cash management activities by monitoring cash flow, forecasting future needs, and ensuring proper fund allocation.
- Prepare internal reports and assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.
- Perform detailed account analysis, including debits & credits, account reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping to ensure data accuracy.
- Contribute to budgeting processes and financial forecasting to support strategic planning efforts.
- Support payroll processing activities and ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
- Answering phone calls and helping residents that walk in is also part of the job.
- Experience
- Proven experience in governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, or public accounting environments demonstrating an understanding of financial concepts and regulatory frameworks.
- Familiarity with accounting software, in general, is helpful.
- Experience performing account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately and provide insightful analysis.
- Knowledge of technical accounting principles including cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and payroll processing.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
