ASSISTANT FOOD & BEVERAGE MANAGER

The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager will oversee the food and beverage areas within the hotel. Responsibilities may include scheduling, forecasting and training, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws as well as all operating procedures. This person may also coordinate special events at the hotel. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager must have strong communication and analytical skills. Food and Beverage cost control experience is helpful.


This person oversees the different functions of the food and beverage areas including banquets, restaurant, room service and bar at different times within the hotel. Responsibilities may include scheduling and training of staff.

  • Oversee daily operations ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food and beverages
  • Handle customer complaints and feedback, ensuring guest satisfaction and implementing improvements as necessary
  • Monitor financial transactions and budget adherence, including payroll
Responsibilities include:
  • Support hotel leadership by developing and assuming key management responsibilities
  • Assume the role of liaison between all departments within the food & beverage division and all other hotel departments
  • Supervise departmental performance and provide them council
  • Manage hourly room service and restaurant employees through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring
  • Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results
  • Monitor ordering, labor cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis ensuring financial performance and control
  • Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment
  • Organize and facilitate departmental meetings, training and goals setting

Salary Range: $73,000-92,000

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years as F&B Management preferred
  • Wine/beverage knowledge in an upscale environment preferred
  • Ideal applicant should have strong organizational skills, ability to work with flexible work schedule, be a team player and a dynamic leader
  • Previous experience in Hotel Room Service, Stewarding, Fine Dining, and Beverage strongly preferred.
  • Possess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skills
  • Experience with training, financial management and customer service
  • Proficient in general computer knowledge
  • A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast - paced customer service environment
  • Previous luxury brand experience preferred
  • Previous experience with managing in a union environment strongly preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
