Assistant Front Office Manager

Position Summary

Lead daily Front Office operations while delivering an exceptional luxury guest experience for both overnight guests and dining patrons. Maintain all aspects of the front desk and valet areas to ensure high service standards. Serve as a key leader within the Front Office department while fostering strong collaboration between the Front Office, Dining Room, and other operational teams.


This role combines responsibilities typically found in a hotel front office leadership position with guest-facing hospitality duties similar to a restaurant host/hostess.


Role Functions

  • Serve as an ambassador for the property in all guest interactions, welcoming both overnight guests and dining guests with professionalism and warmth.
  • Provide exceptional guest service through strong communication, attention to detail, and proactive hospitality.
  • Perform front desk duties including guest check-in and check-out, answering phones, responding to emails, and managing guest requests.
  • Assist with seating guests in dining or lounge areas and help ensure smooth guest flow throughout the property.
  • Support daily Front Office operations and assist in overseeing departmental activities, projects, and staff performance.
  • Ensure Front Office team members follow established service standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor front desk and valet operations to ensure completion of daily checklists and operational tasks.
  • Maintain financial awareness by assisting with department budgets, labor tracking, supply inventory, and expense management.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns promptly while coordinating with appropriate departments when needed.
  • Support staffing coordination to ensure service levels meet daily business demands.
  • Maintain a welcoming and attentive presence by greeting guests and anticipating their needs.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping and Engineering to address room readiness and maintenance needs.
  • Communicate closely with Dining Room and Culinary teams regarding guest requests, dietary restrictions, VIP guests, and special instructions.
  • Prepare and distribute daily front office reports to ensure all departments are informed of key guest information.
  • Manage dining room seating assignments to optimize guest flow and maximize nightly service efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards in the lobby, public areas, and entrance areas.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the property, amenities, and surrounding area.
  • Communicate regularly with Housekeeping regarding room status including departures and room readiness.
  • Assist in coaching and supporting Front Office team members to promote accountability and professional development.
  • Maintain professional etiquette and a positive attitude when interacting with guests and colleagues.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback.


Required Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of Front Office supervisory or management experience
  • 1–2 years of experience in a luxury hospitality environment
  • Ability to work weekends and maintain a flexible schedule
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with property management or reservation systems such as Resortsuite or Tock
  • Multilingual abilities, preferably Spanish or French
  • Certification in alcohol awareness programs
  • CPR certification
