The Missouri Department of Mental Health is seeking to fill a vacancy for an Assistant General Counsel position. Attorney caseload may be throughout the state but is anticipated to be concentrated in the Western geographic region and may extend to the Northwestern, South and Southwestern geographic area of Missouri. Office for this position is located in Kansas City. Remote work options available up to four days in a five day work week, following two months of successful orientation and onboarding in-office.
The base salary offered for this position ranges from $80,000.00 to $89,999.92 annually, commensurate with education and experience. If the selected candidate is eligible for a pay differential, such as retention pay, the total salary may exceed that is listed in this posting.
Responsibilities - What you’ll doThis is a highly responsible position, reporting to the Department General Counsel. The Assistant General Counsel responsibilities for this position may include:
(1) Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law and a current license to practice law in the State of Missouri; (2) two or more years of professional legal experience, experience in administrative law, employment law and mental health or health care law, preferred; (3) communicate effectively, orally and in writing; and (4) maintain a high standard of ethics and professionalism.
