We are currently looking for a Full Time Assistant General Counsel I/Prosecutor to join our Ardmore office.
Summary:
The Prosecutor represents the Chickasaw Nation in the prosecution of criminal, juvenile deprived and juvenile delinquency cases brought in the Chickasaw Nation District Court. Coordinate with the Chickasaw Lighthorse Police for investigations, evaluation of evidence, and case preparation. Provide case intake on new cases received for tribal prosecution. Assist with development of prosecution and case management protocols, policies and procedures. Input case information into an electronic prosecution case management system.

- Appear in the Chickasaw Nation District Court and represent the Chickasaw Nation in the prosecution of adults, juveniles committing criminal/delinquent offenses within the Chickasaw Nation jurisdiction
- Conduct all case preparation necessary to bring charges on behalf of the Chickasaw Nation
- Draft legal documents for cases assigned to the Prosecutor, which includes criminal complaints, motions, proposed orders, legal briefs, jury instructions, sentencing recommendations and other legal documents on a regular basis
- Advise the Chickasaw Lighthorse Police regarding investigations, evaluating evidence, case preparation and preparation of legal documents, including subpoenas, search warrants, arrest warrants and pick-up orders
- Makes regular court appearances for initial appearances, criminal hearings, bench trials and jury trials
- Performs all other duties as assigned
