Assistant General Manager

Role Purpose

The role bearer supports the Project Head in project planning and execution. Act as designated Project Head during the latter’s absence. Responsible for execution of Substation section of the PT & D project within defined timelines, in line with defined quality/ safety standards through efficient utilization of people, material and machinery to optimize cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate the data requirements to aid the Project Head in finalizing the scope of PT & D - Substation project in collaboration with senior management.
• Create a detailed work plan for the entire team identifying the sequence of activities needed to successfully complete the project, estimate resource requirements on a quarterly basis for their assigned section (human, equipment etc.) and raise requisitions along with their allocation to the identified activities.
• Evaluate the progress of the project based on set objectives and measures and create mitigation measures wherever necessary. Align and work together with designated consultants to deliver quality work in the allocated section of the project.
• Monitor progress of the project & execution of their section and identify any deviations from schedule. Ensure deliverables are on time and at the required level of quality.
• Evaluate the outcomes of the section of the project as per expected and actual at all stages of the project cycle. Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental and managerial procedures.
• Create a buy-in with the client and relevant authorities to obtain necessary approvals. Handle conversations with the client and consultant for updates on ground execution.
• Ensure client query resolution in stipulated timeline. Apprise the Project Head and Director–Operations (on a need-to-know basis) of the progress of the project.
• Resolve any issues related to the specific section and ensure accurate and timely reporting. Ensure all project information, including cash flow, is properly documented, and secured and reported.
• Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders, including senior management, on the progress of the project.
• Facilitate development and growth of direct and indirect reportees while keeping track of overall project employee engagement and attrition. Handle employee grievances in the appropriate manner.

Indicative Experience and Exposure

• Diploma in Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical with 13- 15 years’ experience.
• BE/ B. Tech with 11-13 years’ experience.
• M. Tech with 10-12 years’ experience.
• Experience in handling work with scope in a PT & D – Substation project. (765/400/220KV)
