Assistant General Manager

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Supervises daily activities of all operators and coordinates the activities of supervisors and dispatch personnel.

  • OverseesschedulingofDrivers,DispatchersandSupervisors.

  • Monitors operations and coordinates delivery of service with the Branch General Manager,OperationsManagerandAreaGenalManager;andprovidesdailyreports.

  • MonitorsKeyPerformanceIndicators(KPI)andreportsvariancetothelocationGeneral Manager.

  • Monitorsdepartmentbudgetedregularandexceptiontimehoursandreportsvariances to the location General Manager.

  • ResponsibleforOn-TimePerformanceandtimelyyarddepartures.

  • WorkscloselywiththeMaintenanceDepartmenttoensureadequateavailabilityof equipment.

  • Track, compileandanalyzeperformancestandardsrelatedtoOnTimePerformance, Complaints, Missed Service, and other operational standards.

  • Handle interdepartmental issues; assists in the resolution of employee issues and grievances; improve processes and route scheduling.

  • Maintainsconfidentialityofallinformation.

  • Interactwiththeunionrepresentingtheemployeeswiththegoalofpositiveinteraction.

  • Otherdutiesasrequired

Qualifications:

  • Ahighschooldiplomaorequivalent(G.E.D.)required

  • Abachelor’sdegreepreferred

  • Aminimumof5yearsofmanagementexperienceoraminimumof2yearsofpassenger transportation management experience

  • Excellentcommunication&customerserviceskills.

  • Mustbeabletoworkshiftsorflexibleworkschedulesasneeded.

  • ProficiencywithMicrosoftOffice.

  • Comprehensiveknowledgeofpublicmanagementandorganizationtheories, principles, practices and techniques.

  • Thoroughknowledgeofthemethodsofoperationofthetransitsystem’sstaffand operational departments.

  • Subjectto DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
