An overview of the job role

Lead Compliance, Safety, HCM, and Sustainability functions to ensure strategic alignment, risk mitigation, and operational excellence. Oversee cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement through innovation, training, and collaborative leadership.


Team Leadership & Strategic Alignment

  • Lead and manage Compliance, HCM, Safety, and Sustainability teams.
  • Ensure interdepartmental coordination for smooth execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Supervise departmental heads to meet functional, operational, and compliance goals.
  • Support organizational strategy development and translate it into actionable plans.
  • Contribute to long-term roadmaps that support governance, workforce welfare, and environmental goals.


Compliance & Risk Management

  • Oversee implementation of compliance systems aligned with international/local laws.
  • Promote ethical conduct, transparency, and best practices in compliance.
  • Design policies and tools to monitor compliance and reduce risks.
  • Ensure corrective and preventive action (CAPA) systems are operational and monitored.


Project & Process Development

  • Develop new compliance and sustainability project frameworks.
  • Identify key improvement areas and initiate strategic interventions.
  • Define project scope, resources, and deliverables aligned with business priorities.
  • Integrate automation, technology, and lean approaches into compliance and safety systems.


Training, Awareness & Collaboration

  • Conduct regular training on compliance, safety, labor laws, and sustainability practices.
  • Foster continuous learning across cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with HR, CSR, legal, and operations to embed compliance within daily operations.
  • Support the GM in aligning goals and ensuring strategic project execution.


General Job Description

  • Uphold workplace discipline by adhering to all established policies and procedures.
  • Follow 5S and lean manufacturing principles to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by departmental leadership in line with business needs.


Skills & Competencies

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Sustainability, or related field.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 15+ years of experience with at least 3 years in compliance or governance.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of national and international compliance frameworks, labor laws, customer Codes of Conduct, and social audit protocols.
  • Solid understanding of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) fundamentals, health and safety standards, and sustainability metrics.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
  • Proficient in policy developing, compliance documentation, and internal control systems.
  • Ability to work with data tools for tracking compliance performance and preparing internal reports.

Soft skills:

  • Excellent organizational and coordination abilities to manage cross-functional compliance, HCM, and safety initiatives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with internal teams and ensuring policy adherence.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Linguistic Ability:

  • Proficiency in English
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
