Assistant Inventory Manager

We’re seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assistant Inventory Manager to join our retail dispensary team. In this role, you’ll help maintain accurate inventory records, ensure compliance with state cannabis regulations, and support smooth retail operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Inventory Manager in overseeing all inventory functions, including receiving, auditing, restocking, and reconciling products.
  • Accurately record all product intake, adjustments, and transfers using state-mandated tracking systems (e.g., METRC, BioTrack, or equivalent).
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventory audits to ensure compliance and prevent loss or discrepancies.
  • Support staff in maintaining properly labeled and compliant packaging and displays on the sales floor.
  • Coordinate with the sales team to monitor product levels and ensure top-selling items remain in stock.
  • Investigate and report inventory variances or compliance issues to management immediately.
  • Help maintain accurate documentation of waste, damaged goods, and product returns in compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare and organize inventory areas to ensure safe, secure, and efficient storage of all products.
  • Assist in training new employees on inventory procedures, product handling, and compliance policies.
  • Support the Inventory Manager during compliance audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of inventory, retail operations, or supply chain experience (cannabis industry experience strongly preferred).
  • Working knowledge of cannabis compliance and inventory systems (e.g., METRC, BioTrack, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently or within a team.
  • Comfortable working in a highly regulated environment with strict compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and/or POS and inventory software.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and able to pass all background checks required by state cannabis regulations.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 40 lbs for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a retail and storage environment that requires repetitive tasks and occasional heavy lifting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
