Assistant Inventory Manager

The Inventory Assistant Manager who supports the effective management of construction materials, tools, and equipment across sites. The role ensures accurate stock control, timely availability of resources, and smooth coordination between procurement, site teams, and warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, monitoring, and controlling inventory across warehouses and project sites.
  • Maintain accurate records of receipts, issues, and stock levels in the inventory management system.
  • Oversee daily inventory operations, including receiving, storing, and issuing construction materials.
  • Maintain accurate stock records in ERP/Inventory Management Systems.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials and tools at project sites.
  • Conduct regular stock checks, cycle counts, and reconciliations.
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate reorders to avoid shortages.
  • Track slow-moving, excess, and obsolete items and recommend corrective action.
  • Supervise warehouse staff and allocate tasks effectively.
  • Ensure proper labeling, coding, and storage of materials for easy retrieval.
  • Implement and enforce safety, health, and environmental standards in warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate with procurement to align material purchasing with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project/site engineers to forecast material needs.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
  • Support cost control initiatives by reducing wastage and optimizing material usage.Assist in digitalizing inventory processes for improved efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and industry standards.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 8–10 years of experience in inventory or warehouse management, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and equipment.
  • Proficiency in ERP/Inventory Management Systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage a team and coordinate with multiple departments.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
