Job Purpose
The Manager – Operations & Logistics will oversee and manage the end-to-end supply chain, warehousing, cold storage, and distribution operations of frozen food products. This role ensures smooth, cost-effective, and compliant handling of frozen goods while maintaining product integrity and timely delivery to clients across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee daily logistics, warehousing, and distribution activities for frozen food products.
- Ensure adherence to cold chain requirements, including temperature monitoring and compliance with food safety standards.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Monitor KPIs for logistics and warehouse performance.
Logistics & Supply Chain
- Plan and manage inbound and outbound shipments ensuring timely deliveries.
- Coordinate with suppliers, distributors, and transporters for seamless movement of goods.
- Optimize transport routes and fleet utilization to control costs while maintaining service quality.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and customs requirements for frozen food logistics.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Manage cold storage facilities, ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) and inventory accuracy.
- Oversee warehouse staff, workflows, and space utilization to maximize efficiency.
- Conduct regular audits to maintain hygiene, safety, and quality control standards.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and train warehouse, logistics, and operations teams to meet business objectives.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop succession planning and training modules for operations staff.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO, and other relevant food safety standards.
- Enforce health and safety protocols in warehousing and transportation activities.
- Collaborate with QA/QC teams to ensure frozen food quality is not compromised at any stage.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7–10 years of experience in logistics/operations management, with at least 3–5 years in the frozen foods or FMCG sector.
- Strong knowledge of cold chain management, warehouse operations, and supply chain optimization.
- Proven leadership, people management, and vendor negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, WMS, and MS Office tools.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards for food handling and distribution.
