Assistant Key Account Manager

Pune, India

This role reports to the Assistant Regional Manager – Plasters Boards and will be a critical part of the Key Accounts & Project Sales team, managing the Pune and ROMG (Rest of Maharashtra & Goa) region.


About the Role:

The Assistant Manager – Key Accounts & Project Sales will be responsible for driving business growth through effective key account management, project sales execution, and deep market engagement across Pune & ROMG. This role is focused on scaling up sales in Office/IT, Commercial, Govt/PSU Projects, Retail & Entertainment, and Design & Build segments, while ensuring strong relationship management with key stakeholders such as architects, PMCs, contractors, and end clients.


Responsibilities:

  • Achieve assigned sales and specification targets for projects across the region.
  • Manage and grow a pipeline of key accounts and large-scale projects.
  • Conduct product specification and solution selling to clients, architects, PMCs, and contractors.
  • Execute key account strategies including relationship management, retention, and upselling.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in segments such as Office/IT, Retail, Entertainment, Government, and Commercial sectors.
  • Build strong market intelligence on competitors, pricing strategies, and market movements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for smooth order execution, documentation, and compliance.
  • Lead and support promotional campaigns, technical workshops, and product demonstrations.
  • Maintain and expand presence across Pune, Kolhapur, Goa, Nashik and surrounding markets.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering & MBA preferred
  • Experience: 4–7 years of experience in Project Sales / Key Account Management in building materials, construction, or allied industries.
  • Experience managing strategic accounts and project-based selling.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple regions and a large base of customers and influencers.
  • Exposure to Key Account Management, Developer & Architect relationships.

  • A result-driven, customer-focused professional with excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Strong understanding of project sales cycle, specification generation, and commercial negotiation.
  • High agility to work across multiple geographies, customer types, and sales verticals.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Self-motivated, with an ability to work independently and drive cross-functional coordination.


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in managing strategic accounts and project-based selling.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple regions and a large base of customers and influencers.
