Assistant Laboratory Specialist (Tunneling Projects)

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Laboratory Specialist to support laboratory testing and material quality control activities for tunneling and underground infrastructure projects. The role involves assisting in testing, reporting, and ensuring compliance of construction materials with project specifications and international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in conducting laboratory and field tests on materials such as soil, concrete, aggregates, grout, and shotcrete
• Support sample collection, preparation, and testing in accordance with approved standards
• Maintain accurate records of test results, logs, and reports
• Assist in calibration, maintenance, and proper handling of laboratory equipment
• Coordinate with QA/QC and site teams for testing schedules and requirements
• Ensure proper storage and handling of materials in the laboratory and on-site
• Report non-conforming materials and assist in corrective actions
• Follow all laboratory safety procedures and HSE guidelines
• Support senior laboratory staff in daily operations and documentation

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• 1–3 years of experience in construction material testing or laboratory support
• Basic knowledge of material testing standards (ASTM, BS, ISO)
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures
• Proficiency in MS Office

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to infrastructure or tunneling projects is an advantage
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in both laboratory and site environments

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
