Assistant Manager

Fritz’s Railroad Restaurant – Crown Center Location

Position Summary

The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, and leading team members in a fast-paced, family-friendly environment. This role is responsible for supervising shifts, maintaining operational standards, supporting staff development, and ensuring smooth coordination of the restaurant’s unique train-delivered dining service.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Supervise daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts
  • Ensure timely and accurate food delivery via the train system and service team
  • Maintain high standards for food quality, cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly
  • Monitor dining room flow and adjust staffing or service priorities as needed

Team Leadership

  • Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching restaurant team members
  • Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities
  • Provide real-time feedback and performance support to staff
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on hospitality and efficiency

Financial & Administrative Support

  • Support inventory management, ordering, and cost control efforts
  • Assist with labor management to meet staffing and budget targets
  • Help monitor daily sales, cash handling procedures, and shift reporting
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and local health regulations

Facility & Safety

  • Ensure restaurant cleanliness and maintenance standards are consistently met
  • Support troubleshooting of operational equipment including the train delivery system
  • Promote and enforce workplace safety practices

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant supervisory or assistant management experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Passion for guest service and team development
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs

Pay: $57,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
