The Assistant Manager – Accounts is responsible for supporting the Manager Accounts in overseeing and managing the organization’s accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and compliance. This role ensures accurate and timely preparation of financial records, supports internal controls, and assists in decision-making through financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting & Bookkeeping:
- Supervise and review day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of management reports for decision-making.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor variances between actual results and budget, providing analytical insights.
- Compliance & Audits:
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors and assist in audit preparations.
- Internal Controls:
- Review and improve internal control systems and processes.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.
- Vendor & Client Coordination:
- Oversee reconciliations of vendor and client accounts.
- Address and resolve discrepancies effectively.
- System & Process Improvements:
- Work on automation and ERP system enhancements to improve efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (CA Inter, ACCA, or CMA preferred)
- Experience: 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (ERP) and MS Excel.
- Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
