Role Overview
The Assistant Manager – Accounts (Healthcare) is responsible for managing hospital accounting operations, ensuring statutory and healthcare-specific compliance, controlling revenues and costs, supporting audits, and enabling accurate financial reporting across OPD, IPD, pharmacy, diagnostics, and surgical services.
Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Hospital Accounting & Book Closure
- Manage end-to-end accounting for OPD, IPD, OT, pharmacy, optical, diagnostics, and procedures
- Ensure daily revenue accounting from HIS to accounting system
- Monitor package billing, surgery billing, doctor fees, and concessions
- Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual closures with accuracy
- Scrutinize trial balance, ledgers, and cost center-wise accounts
2. Revenue Assurance & Controls
- Reconcile HIS revenue vs accounts vs bank receipts
- Monitor cash, card, UPI, insurance, and credit patient collections
- Review discounts, refunds, write-offs, and approvals
- Track doctor revenue share, visiting consultant payouts, and incentives
- Ensure revenue leakage controls across front office, billing, and accounts
3. Insurance, TPA & Corporate Billing
- Oversee insurance, TPA, CGHS, ECHS, corporate credit billing
- Monitor claims submission, approval, rejection, and settlements
- Track pending claims, ageing, and reconciliation
- Coordinate with billing & insurance desk for timely collections
- Provide MIS on claim realization cycle & outstanding receivables
4. Statutory Compliance & Taxation (Healthcare-Specific)
- Ensure compliance with:
- GST (exempt & taxable mix – pharmacy, optics, procedures)
- TDS (doctors, consultants, contractors, rent, professional fees)
- PF, ESI, Professional Tax
- Review GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, 2B reconciliation)
- Ensure proper classification of exempt healthcare services vs taxable supplies
- Coordinate for income tax assessments and notices
5. Cost Control & Expense Management
- Monitor medical consumables, implants, lenses, medicines
- Track inventory consumption vs billing
- Review vendor invoices, purchase orders, and GRNs
- Support rate negotiations and vendor cost analysis
- Analyze department-wise profitability (OPD, IPD, OT, pharmacy)
6. MIS, Financial Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare hospital MIS dashboards, including:
- Revenue by service line
- OPD–IPD conversion
- Surgery volumes & ARPU
- Doctor-wise & department-wise profitability
- Prepare P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and capex analysis (medical equipment)
- Provide insights to management for growth & efficiency decisions
7. Audit & Regulatory Coordination
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, tax auditors
- Prepare audit schedules, supporting documents, and reconciliations
- Support NABH / NABL / quality audits from finance perspective
- Ensure SOP adherence and documentation
8. Systems & Process Management
- Work with HIS, ERP, accounting software (Tally / SAP / Oracle / Zoho)
- Ensure correct mapping of billing heads to GL
- Support automation of billing, collections, and reconciliations
- Maintain financial SOPs and process documentation
9. Team Supervision
- Supervise accounts executives handling billing, payables, and compliance
- Review work accuracy and timelines
- Train team on healthcare accounting nuances
- Coordinate with front office, billing, stores, and insurance teams
Qualifications & Experience
- Education:
- B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance)
- Experience:
- 2 -4 years in accounts
- Minimum 1.5 - 2 years in hospital / healthcare accounting mandatory

Pay: ₹15,999.00 - ₹39,000.00 per month
