Job Title: Assistant Manager – Accounts
Job Summary
The Assistant Manager – Accounts supports the finance department in managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with statutory requirements, and timely reporting. The role involves supervising accounting staff, coordinating audits, and assisting in financial planning and controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and ensure timely recording of financial transactions
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and MIS reports
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (GST, TDS, Income Tax, VAT, etc., as applicable)
- Handle accounts payable and receivable functions
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities
- Reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and inter-company accounts
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Monitor internal controls and ensure adherence to company policies
- Supervise and guide junior accounting staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com)
- 3–6 years of relevant accounting experience
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with ERP/accounting software (Tally, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial analysis
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Good communication and coordination abilities
