Job Posting: Assistant Manager – Banking Operations

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manager – Banking & Trade Finance to independently oversee all banking operations, trade finance, and related documentation for our organization. This role will be responsible for managing day-to-day banking activities, credit facilities, and export-import documentation, while ensuring compliance with financial regulations and smooth coordination with financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Banking Operations

  • Manage daily cash transactions, deposits, and withdrawals.
  • Handle cheque collections, clearing, and discounting.
  • Oversee vendor/customer payments, fund transfers, and reconciliations.
  • Monitor bank balances, overdrafts, and optimize fund utilization.

2. Trade Finance & Credit Facilities

  • Manage invoice, LC, and bill discounting.
  • Liaise with banks for sanctioning, renewal, and enhancement of credit limits.
  • Ensure timely submission of stock statements, CMA data, and related banking documents.
  • Track and manage utilization of working capital limits, packing credit, buyers’ credit, etc.

3. Export & Import Documentation

  • Prepare and manage export documentation (invoices, packing lists, BL, LC compliance, etc.).
  • Coordinate with shipping lines, customs, and banks for export document negotiation.
  • Verify and submit documents under LCs, ensuring timely acceptance and payment.
  • Ensure compliance with FEMA, RBI, and other regulatory requirements.

4. Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary liaison with banks and financial institutions.
  • Negotiate banking charges, interest rates, and facility terms.
  • Build strong relationships to ensure smooth and timely funding support.

5. Reporting & Control

  • Maintain MIS for bank facilities, LC status, export realization, and outstanding positions.
  • Prepare daily/weekly cash flow forecasts and fund utilization reports.
  • Ensure robust internal controls and compliance with audit requirements.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of banking products: OD, CC, LC, BG, invoice discounting.
  • In-depth understanding of export-import documentation and trade finance.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and financial reporting.
  • Strong negotiation skills with banks and financial institutions.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance orientation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Finance, Commerce, or related field.
  • 5–10 years’ experience in banking operations/trade finance.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, trading, or export-oriented industries preferred.
