Overview

Location: Ball Memorial Hospital

Position: Assistant Manager of Clinical Operations

Shift: 1.0 Full-time FTE Monday - Friday days with evening, weekend, and holiday flexibility.

Position Overview:

The Assistant Manager of OB Clinical Operations supports the delivery of exceptional, family-centered care across our Obstetrics Emergency Department, Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby, Operating Room Suites, and Lactation. As a key member of the Women and Children’s leadership team, this role champions IU Health’s values—leading with compassion, striving for excellence, working with purpose, and fostering strong teams. This leader helps drive daily operations, supports quality and safety initiatives, and promotes a positive experience for patients, families, and team members in a 24/7 care environment

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the unit Manager to develop and implement action plans aimed at quality, safety, and patient experience improvements.

  • Lead the execution of action plans and evaluate their outcomes and effectiveness.
  • Foster an environment of team empowerment, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Support the advancement of nursing practice through advocacy for evidence-based and professional standards.
  • Participate as a key member of the unit leadership team, ensuring smooth operational management around the clock.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and professional growth within the team.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education:

- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

  • Licensure & Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.

- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

- Additional advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department policies.

  • Experience:

- OB Experience Strongly Preferred
