Assistant Manager – Estimation & Planning

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager – Estimation & Planning is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, project budgets, and execution plans for HVAC / Air-conditioning projects. The role supports tendering, project planning, resource forecasting, and coordination with procurement, engineering, and site teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Estimation

• Prepare detailed HVAC cost estimates for tenders and projects
• Analyze BOQs, drawings, specifications, and tender documents
• Estimate material, labor, equipment, subcontract, and overhead costs
• Prepare cost breakdowns, pricing schedules, and bid summaries
• Coordinate with suppliers and procurement for current material prices
• Evaluate vendor quotations and perform cost comparisons
• Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives

Planning

• Develop project execution plans and work schedules
• Prepare manpower, material, and equipment planning
• Monitor planned vs actual progress and costs
• Update schedules based on site progress and changes
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams
• Assist in preparing cash flow forecasts and procurement schedules

Coordination & Reporting

• Work closely with Procurement & Logistics to align material delivery schedules
• Support contract administration and variation pricing
• Prepare estimation and planning reports for management
• Maintain estimation databases, rate libraries, and historical cost records

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5–8 years of experience in HVAC estimation and planning
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (chillers, VRF, DX, ducting, piping, controls)
• Experience with commercial, residential, or industrial HVAC projects

• Ability to read HVAC drawings and specifications
• Strong analytical and cost control skills
• Good coordination and communication abilities
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work under tight tender deadlines

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
